You can choose to display a badge on your message page so that police, fire, towing, or first responders know they may reach you for accidents, towing, or safety issues involving your vehicle. This setting is off by default and only activates after you toggle it on. We will never share your phone number with anyone unless you've opted in. (This feature is currently locked while we finalize agreements with public safety agencies.)
When you send a message anonymously, the recipient sees only "Anonymous" — your name, plate, and avatar are hidden from them. Your identity is still recorded internally for abuse prevention and may be disclosed if required by law.
Names you save for other contacts in your inbox are private — only you can see them. The original sender continues to see their own plate and (if set) their own display name.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate iCAR3, such as hosting, email, SMS delivery, security, customer support, and payment processing, and only when required by law.
SMS privacy notice: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
